The heart of the ETHOS is Benelli's renowned Inertia Driven System. This extremely reliable action is composed of just 3 main parts – the bolt body, inertia spring, and rotating bolt head – and harnesses the inertia of recoil to cycle the next round. This simple, yet robust system eliminates the need to make adjustments, and is able to handle the lightest field loads to heavy magnum shells. The Inertia Driven System prevents residue from entering the action and ensures the gas, smoke, and burnt powder remain in the barrel. This makes the Inertia Driven System run significantly cleaner than gas systems.
In addition to its sheer reliability, the ETHOS offers exceptional aesthetics. The receiver is nickel plated, and select models feature a finely cut floral engraving. The barrel and top of the receiver feature a glossy blued finish that contrasts perfectly against the beautifully figured AA-grade walnut stock. The stock has also been fitted with Benelli's Progressive Comfort system - a design that incorporates three sets of interlocking flexible buffers that absorb recoil and different stages dependent of the strength of the shot shell's load.
